What I can use to clean Faux Suede Boots?
I have a pair of false black suede boots that I love, but all the salt we use here in Canada has stained badly and is very visible as it is black. What I can use for cleaning? Obviously I have tried hot water, but that does not remove the salt. Is there anything not the cleaning products they sell in the shops of shoes?
Use a mild detergent and water and scrub with a brush … Gently rinse and dry … should bring back well. You are probably dealing with a mixture of calcium chloride … about 1 cup of vinegar in 1 liter of water before scrubing … should dissolve the white spots that accumulate. Repeat if necessary, will not hurt his boots. Just can not penetrate the bone. If the first attempt did not succeed in this, let dry and then repeat the trick vinegar. (White vinegar!)
